We are excited to welcome the remarkable Austrian author, poet, musician and intersectional feminist YASMO (a.k.a. Yasmin Hafedh) in London and Liverpool in May, taking part in this year's European Poetry Festival, curated by SJ Fowler. Pairs of brilliant European and British poets present brand new experimental and literary live poems, made for each night, in collaboration!
Yasmin Hafedh lyrics are authentic, critical, political, dreamy, courageous, and true. As a poet, Hafedh, has been on stage since she was 15. She was the first Austrian to win the German-language poetry slam championships in 2009, and she has been the reigning Austrian poetry slam champion since October 2013. As a rapper, Yasmo, and her UK alias Miss Lead, have been performing with various DJ's. On stage, she performs with her 8-piece jazz band "Die Klangkantine". In 2019 she curated the Wiener Popfest with Mira Lu Kovacs, in 2021 and 2022 the pop programme of the Wiener Kultursommer. She also holds numerous workshops. Hafedh is one of the most influential artists in Austrian music. Her third studio album with the formation Klangkantine “Laut & Lost” was released in 2022.
