This concert will accompany the conference about the Austrian diplomat and Orientalist Joseph von Hammer-Purgstall who translated the works of the Persian poet Hafis von Schiras. The West-East Divan project, started by Sanaz Sotoudeh (pianist) at the Royal Academy of Music, is a concert series of music inspired by Goethe’s West-Östlicher Divan, a book of Hafis von Schiras’s translated poetry. The concert at the ACF London is presented by Sanaz Sotoudeh (piano) and will feature three outstanding singers from the Royal Academy of Music: Jennifer France (soprano), Alison Rose (soprano) and Johnny Herford (baritone).
