The programme, entitled Vögelein Schwermut (Melancholy Bird) is a memorial concert for composers persecuted during the Nazi-regime. Impressive and touching songs from Walter Arlen, Erich Zeisl, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Viktor Ullmann and Erwin Schulhoff will be performed by Irene Wallner (alto) and Andrea Linsbauer (piano). Irene Wallner studied at the University for Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. She is an expert in Lied and Opera with a special interest in the works of Mahler, Korngold and Wagner. A graduate from the same Vienna university, pianist Andrea Linsbauer has also studied at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and the Music Department of the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
