The Vienna Piano Trio, founded in 1988, rapidly established an exceptional reputation. The Strad Magazine wrote of their ‘meteoric rise to fame’ and ‘the remarkable VPT, fast becoming the leading trio of the 21st century’. The Times wrote ‘this youthful Ensemble have rapidly established themselves as one of the finest chamber groups on the International circuit’ and gave them the accolade of ‘Classical Album of the year 2000’. The Washington Post named them ‘one of the world’s leading groups for violin ‘cello and piano.

In 2011 & 12 they have a Residency at the Wigmore Hall, London, and continue to be Resident Piano Trio at the Konzerthaus in Vienna as well as for Martin Randell Travel. They begin the year with two concerts at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, before flying to the USA for the first of their four tours of America, Canada and South America in 2011, giving concerts as well as master classes. They have many concerts in Europe, including the Schubertiade in May, and return to London in the Autumn for six concerts. In the Autumn of 2010 they opened the season of the Concert Hall in Shanghai to celebrate the new collaboration with the Vienna Konzerthaus, and will return to China in the spring of 2012. They were awarded the Music Critics Award for the best foreign Chamber Music Group in Argentina in 2009.

Their most recent Haydn CD received the ECHO Klassik Award in Germany, following many Editor’s Choice and CD awards in Gramaphone and the BBC Music Magazine.
