Soundings is a unique platform for contemporary music initiated in 2004 by the Austrian Cultural Forum London. It presents and profiles young composers and performers from Austria and the United Kingdom in workshops, symposia and concerts.
From the 13th to 16th May 2008 the Austrian composers Gerald Resch, Judith Unterpertinger and Orestis Toufektsis together with their UK-based counterparts Ed Bennett, Phillip Neil Martin andClaudia Molitor will work with musicians Isa Kargl (soprano), Loré Lixenberg (mezzo-soprano), Matthew Jones (viola), Rowland Sutherland (flute), Peter Furniss (clarinet) and the Fidelio Trio, Mary Dullea (piano & this year’s curator), Darragh Morgan (violin), Robin Michael (cello).
As in previous years, discussions and interviews will be led by distinguished music critic Annette Morreau and Soundings project manager Andrea Rauter.
