Soundings I – Exploring the cutting edge

  • 4 Nov 2004 — 4 Nov 2004

For the first time in its 20 year history Klangforum Wien performs at Wigmore Hall. The orchestra, possibly today’s most vital new music group, will be conducted by Johannes Kalitzke and feature countertenorAndrew Watts.

The concert will include the world première of Can’t Help Falling in Love as well as the British première of No more secrets, no more lies by the Austrian composer Olga Neuwirth, who will personally attend the event on this occasion.

Tonight’s concert is presented in collaboration with the Anglo-Austrian Music Society who have generously supported the commission of the world première of Can’t Help Falling in Love....

The concert forms part of Soundings, a unique platform for contemporary music, presenting and profiling young composers and artists from the United Kingdom and Austria.

The Austrian Cultural Forum would like to thank all those in the UK and Austria who have made this concert possible.
