Presented by Twisted Lounge and featuring Loré Lixenberg – mezzo-soprano
The Sumarian shepherd King, Dumuzid, dies and is taken to the underworld. Initiated by the holy embrace of the fertility goddess, Inana, for six months of the year he is allowed back to earth. This epic tale has inspired Song of Songs, a musical and visual embrace between music and film animation and forms the basis of the latest collaboration between Loré Lixenberg and New Music Projects NÖ (Lower Austria) directed by Robert Jamieson Crow. Ancient Sumarian text (virtuosically set for solo voice by Robert J. Crow) and 12th century multi-tracked latin plainsong settings of King Solomon’s Song of Solomon are presented together with animations from ASIFA Austria (Association Internationale du Film d’Animation) and live electronics.
