Rosenblatt Recitals welcomes Slovenian soprano Sabina Cvilak as she makes her series debut and performs a selection of songs and arias by Slovenian composers including Pregelj, Vilhar and Lipovsek as well as European composers including Hauer, Strauss, Puccini, Stolz and Lehár.
Born in Maribor, Sabina Cvilak graduated in Ljubljana where she studied with Annemarie Zeller and Kurt Widmer. Recipient of several prizes, she was also awarded the Karajan scholarship in Vienna and became member of the Wiener Staatsoper. She has recently appeared in Turandot (Liu), I Pagliacci (Nedda), Faust (Marguerite), Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi), Carmen (Micaela), Tales of Hoffmann (Antonia) and Il Re Pastore in opera houses all over the world. Her future plans include La Bohème at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki and in Hong Kong, Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi) at the Palm Beach Opera, I Pagliacci (Nedda) at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and in Ravenna, and The Bartered Bride at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari.
