Christoph Urbanetz will perform two Viola da gamba concerts in the UK this Spring.  

Christoph Urbanetz studied Viola da gamba with Daniel Valencia (Vienna), Lorenz Duftschmid (University of Music and Performing Arts Graz) and Paolo Pandolfo (Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Basel, from which he graduated cum laude in 2004). Thereafter, he studied with Vittorio Ghielmi (Conservatorio de la Svizzera Italiana, Lugano), and since 2001 he has taken master classes with Jordi Savall (Barcelona).

In 2006, Christoph Urbanetz was awarded the Special Prize for the best Bach performance in the 3rd Bach-Abel International Viola da Gamba Competition in Köthen, Germany, as well as the second prize in this competition. In 2007, he won the first prize in the International Viola da Gamba Competition in Seville, Spain.
