Mozart may have been a mere 18 when he wrote La Finta Giardiniera, his second comic opera, but from the overture onward we are surrounded by the hallmarks of Mozart's emerging genius - not just in his music, but his assured presentation of unfolding narrative.
In its fourth decade and now led by conductor Richard Egarr, the period instrument Academy of Ancient Music's acclaimed Mozart discography spans his vocal and orchestral works. James Gilchrist and Rosemary Joshua are among the most cherished of British singers today, while Elisabeth Watts and Andrew Kennedy have emerged in the last couple of years as among the most talked about singers of the new generation. This concert is a rare opportunity to hear an early Mozart work in the hands of some of the leading Mozartians of today.
Daniela Lehner who will sing the role of Ramiro was one of the ACF's New Artist Series musicians.
