In the second of his new series of study days focussing on each of Mahler’s symphonies, writer and broadcaster Gavin Plumley, the Vice President of the Gustav Mahler Society UK, will continue his exploration of Mahler's great symphonic odyssey focusing on the great Second Symphony known as 'The Resurrection'.
Gavin Plumley is a writer and broadcaster. He is the commissioning editor of English-language programme notes for the Salzburg Festival and has appeared on BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4. As well as writing for The Independent on Sunday and The Guardian, Gavin has lectured at leading art galleries and museums and he writes programme notes and gives talks for concert halls, orchestras, opera houses and festivals worldwide.
