After playing together in various bands and projects Christoph Pepe Auer and Manu Delago discovered how superbly their two instruments, bass clarinet and hang, complimented each other. By bringing these two instruments together they created a new sound which is presented by probably the world’s first bass clarinet and hang duo. The ‘hang’ is a spherical instrument invented in 2000 by Sabina Schärer and Felix Rohner as a result of working with Steeldrum, Gong, Udu and Gatham. Christophe Pepe Auer and Manu Delago were selected by a panel to become part of the Austrian Foreign Ministry’s ‘New Austrian Sound of Music’ music scheme.
