The world premiere of new pieces inspired by Ligeti's Etudes, played by the celebrated Ligeti Quartet as the culmination of a day programmed by the ensemble to celebrate 100 years since the composer's birth.
As a part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of György Ligeti's birth, the programme includes a new piece 'Entasis', composed by his son Lukas Ligeti.
Earlier in the Festival, on Monday 19 June, Pierre-Laurent Aimard plays the complete original Etudes.
