For the second year EUNIC (European Union National Institutes of Culture), in cooperation with the British Library, present the European Literature Night. This Europe-wide event will take place simultaneously across Europe creating a genuine trans-European event. In London, writers from seven European capitals, both emerging and established, will come together for an evening of readings and conversation.
The Austrian writer, Julya Rabinowich was born in St Petersburg and lives and works in Vienna. She has received several prizes and awards, among them the First Prize of Edition Exil. Writing Between Cultures (2003). Her novel Spaltkopf received the top prize for an outstanding debut from the Austrian Ministry of Culture and is due to be published in English by Portobello Books in Spring 2011.
