On the occassion of Joshua Leon's new commission and first solo presentation at Chisenhale Gallery, the ACF is delighted to present an evening of music and poetry in partnership with the Chisenhale Gallery.
Restaging a recital originally performed in 1948, violinist Madeleine Mitchell and pianist Ronan Magill perform music from a programme featured in Joshua Leon’s Chisenhale Gallery commission, The Missing O and E. Alongside compositions by Vivaldi, Mozart, Ravel, Chopin and Brahms, a missing piece of music from the programme, Rodigue Egon’s Three Romanian Sketches, will be reimagined by Leon in the form of new poetry and performed live during the evening.
The Missing O and E is a new commission by London-based UK / Austrian artist, poet, and writer Joshua Leon. Leon’s text-led processes produce artworks and exhibitions that bind memoir with historical research. Spanning sculpture and sound, the installation traces a collapsing of personal memory and historical record to offer a nuanced exploration of Jewish life.
