This exhibition of contemporary photographic representations of motherhood explores the increasingly complex position of mothers. Curated by Susan Bright, Home Truths agitates, updates and questions stereotypical or sentimental views of a passive mother and attempts to address larger ideological conundrums of power, gender, place, domesticity and the body. Twelve photographers, including Austrian Hanna Putz will present their work at the Photographer’s Gallery and the Foundling Museum in London.
Hanna Putz (b. 1987) has been shortlisted for the 1000 Words Photography Award and nominated as ‘one to watch’ in the British Journal of Photography’s Emerging Photographers feature. Her work was recently shown in
the ACF’s Another Austria exhibition. Her work will be displayed at the Photographers' Gallery.
