Ghostlines – Mads Floor Andersen & Cara Davies

  • 30 May 2022 — 5 Jun 2022

Ghostlines is a week-long research residency hosting artists Mads Floor Andersen and Cara Davies, unpicking the complex meshwork created by our daily comings and goings, travel, memory, and the ghosts of the past. It also forms a connection between arts spaces in Austria and the UK: toZOMIA in Vienna, and PINK, in central Manchester. Mads and Cara will translate the unique contexts of both sites into a creative method for exploration and sharing.

We all make tracks - navigating our lives via trails and desire-lines, creating familiar routes as counter to life’s uncertainties. Over the course of the week, the artists will translate Vienna’s Südbahnhof quarter onto Manchester’s Oxford Road through various encounters, including walks, performances, installations, and screenings, with conversations, food, reflexology, and palmistry.

PINK is a peripatetic curatorial project focusing on interdisciplinary research, practice, and collaborative exchange. Founded and directed by Manchester based curator, Katy Morrison, it plays host to an ambitious curatorial programme that comprises overlapping objectives, thematic research, and creative collaborations. This is built upon a seasonal cycle of consecutive exhibitions, residencies and events revolving around a thematic axis to carefully unfold experimental practices in close collaboration with artists, thinkers, writers, researchers, chefs, and sommeliers; crossing knowledge fields in order to practise a critical fascination.

PINK is currently located at 86 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6NGpink-mcr.com
