At the Hepworth Wakefield
Initiated and co-developed with great enthusiasm by Franz West before he died in July 2012, this exhibition provides a much needed and highly anticipated major UK retrospective of West’s varied, influential and prolific practice. West’s work will be presented within the context of the gallery’s permanent display of Barbara Hepworth’s sculptures, highlighting the productive parallels with both West and Hepworth: the use of plaster, the significance of the studio environment and the repeated return to reconfiguring and adapting previous work.
