aron quartett:

The aron quartett was founded in 1998 by Vienna-based musicians Ludwig Müller, Barna Kobori, Georg Hamann, and Christophe Pantillon. Influenced significantly by members of the Alban Berg Quartet, as well as Ernst Kovacic and Heinrich Schiff, their artistic journey also benefited from interactions with Isaac Stern, Max Rostal, William Primrose, Mischa Maisky, Ralph Kirschbaum, and Sandor Végh. Since their debut, the quartet has cultivated a diverse repertoire, collaborating with luminaries such as Heinz Holliger and members of the Amadeus, LaSalle, and Alban Berg Quartets. They are known for their exploration of both classical quartet literature and the works of the Second Viennese School, highlighted by a residency at the Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna during their inaugural year. Their performances span prestigious venues and festivals across Europe, the USA, Mexico, and Japan, solidifying their international acclaim.

In addition to their extensive concert schedule, the aron quartett has recorded critically acclaimed albums, including a complete collection of Arnold Schönberg's string quartets, for which they received the prestigious Pasticcio Prize. Their interpretations are celebrated for their technical mastery and insightful musicality, setting new standards in 20th-century chamber music. Current and forthcoming projects include recordings of works by Egon Wellesz, underscoring their ongoing commitment to enriching the chamber music repertoire with innovative performances and recordings.

The event is organised in cooperation with the Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna.
