There will be a strong Austrian presence at this year’s Eurocultured Street Festival in Manchester. The event is now in its ninth year and celebrates the diversity of European culture in all its forms. The two day event takes place on streets, under tunnels, railway arches, car parks and surrounding venues around Manchester city centre.
This year features live performances from Lovely Rita, a Vienna-based avant-pop band making its Manchester debut. Its leader, Martin Stepanik, claims he strives to put a human centre into electronic music. The band plays love songs and Beatles’ covers with an experimental approach. The festival will also feature a live painting performance by the exceptionally talented Frau Isa, a Vienna based visual artist and illustrator, known for her fairy-tale like works with a creepy touch.
Most of the performances and activities will take place on and around New Wakefield Street and Great Malborough Street, Manchester City Centre.
