Every March the city of Graz hosts the Diagonale Film Festival which presents the best of Austrian filmmaking. It is the main platform for presenting and discussing Austrian film and aims to raise awareness and recognition of Austrian filmmaking. From over 500 submissions the Selected Programme presents outstanding feature films and documentaries, as well as the best short, animation and experimental films and videos. In addition, the Show Case presents all feature length films and documentaries of the previous year.

Cineclub will seek out and highlight one stand-out film from the festival for a special screening at the ACF London. Last year’s ACF discovery was the feature film The Robber which was subsequently nominated at both the European and Berlin film festivals.
