The Early Dance Centre, an umbrella organisation dedicated to promoting the enjoyment, performance and study of Early Dance, has invited Irene Brandenburg (University of Salzburg) to give a special talk on Dance in Eighteenth century opera. Irene Brandenburg is a musicologist and dance historian with a focus on Eighteenth century Italian opera and ballet. She is responsible for the Derra de Moroda Dance Archives, an internationally renowned and distinguished dance library based on the collection of the dancer, choreographer and collector Friderica Derra de Moroda (1897–1978).

The talk will feature a DVD of a 'reconstruction' of the Chaconne in Idomeneo, made by Austrian dance scholars Claudia Jeschke and Sibylle Dahms with dancer Rainer Krenstetter.
