As part of the ‘Musical Capitals Series’, Classical Vienna is brought to life through an illustrated talk from writer, music journalist and broadcaster Stephen Johnson.
Featuring Maxim Rysanov (viola), Kristina Blaumane (cello), Alexander Bedenko (clarinet) and Jacob Katsnelson (piano), the evening explores the music composed and performed towards the end of the Classical Era including Haydn’s Piano Sonata No. 33 in C Minor, Mozart’s Clarinet Trio in E Flat Major and Beethoven’s Duet for Viola and Cello in E Flat Major, as well as his Clarinet Trio in B Flat Major. Presented at the 20th Century Theatre in Notting Hill, Classical Vienna takes the audience on a journey to when new musical forms were being perfected and the first stirrings of Romanticism were the result of revolutionary thinking.
