Renowned Austrian mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager, accompanied by pianist Helmut Deutsch, will perform a recital of works from the German-speaking world at this year’s Edinburgh International Festival. Their programme will include pieces by Brahms inspired by the folk songs of his native lands, and Schubert’s musical interpretation of Gretchen and Erlkönig (The Erl-King) by Goethe.
