Founded in 1941 by Jewish refugees from Central Europe, the Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) is the leading national charitable organisation delivering social and welfare services to Jewish victims of Nazi oppression as well as their dependants and descendants living in Great Britain. This year they celebrate their 70th anniversary. During Refugee Week the AJR has planned a series of seminars and a concert in association with the London Jewish Cultural Centre.
Sessions will cover the world the refugees came from and the world they came to. Presenters will include Trudy Gold, Patrick Bade, William Tyler, Prof Stephen Frosh, Dr Martin Lovett OBE, Bea Lewkowicz and Anthony Grenville. Alongside the session will be a Question Time with Austrian Ambassador to the UK H. E. Dr Emil Brix. A concert on Sunday 26 June featuring Jack Liebeck, violin, Robert Max, cello and Gordon Back, piano will conclude the celebrations.
