We are happy to announce that the ceremony of the 2022 Austrian Cultural Forum Translation Prize will take place on Wednesday 16 November, 7pm. Please join us for an evening full of language, translation, literature and exchange!
Please see here for more info on the translation prize.
The judges of the 2022 ACF Translation Competition have now selected the winners of this year’s contest. In Category A (an extract from Mareike Fallwickl’s Die Wut, die bleibt) the winner was Jozef van der Voort. In the same category, the jury also highly commended the entries of Martha Turewicz and Sarah Rimmington. In Category B (the short story ‘Silvia’ in Daniel Wisser’s collection Die erfundene Frau) it was an incredibly tight race, the jury finally choosing Lauren Harris as their winner. Congratulations also to Esther Rathbone, who came a close second.
As a special treat of the evening, Rosie Goldsmith will introduce the Austrian Riveter, a magazine focusing on contemporary Austrian writing, which will be published next year to coincide with Austria’s status as selected guest country at the 2023 Leipzig Book Fair.
If you wish to attend, please RSVP to: office@acflondon.org or book via our website.
We look forward to seeing at our celebration of translation and Austrian culture.
