Zahra Mani is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Pakistan and London, currently based in Austria. In her work, for which she received  the Austrian Outstanding Artist award for music in 2017, she creates pulsing, shifting soundscapes derived from her burgeoning archive of instrumental and found sound. Characterised by a continuous and subtle pulse, her musical language constantly questions traditional aspects such as melody, rhythm, time structure and acoustic aesthetics.

At the concert organised in collaboration with The Engine Room 2019 Exhibition and IKLECTIK's 5th anniversary Zahra Mani will perform alongside Scottish composer, improviser and sound artist Phil Maguire.
