We are thrilled to announce the winners and shortlisted artist for the Wolf Suschitzky Photography Prize 2025!
Photographers based in Austria and the UK were invited to submit works on the theme of "All the world’s a stage”. Taking this line in Shakespeare’s play As You Like It we were inspired by Wolf Suschitzky’s ability to capture the human experience.
The winners of the fourth edition of the Suschitzky Prize are:
Andrej Polukord (AT)
Jeremy Chih-Hao Chuang (UK)
The Jury found Andrej Polukord's Woodstatues combine performative, sculptural and photographic elements to create seemingly risky images of artistic self-exaltation. By turning a visibly damaged environment into his personal stage, discussing current questions about the state of the world and the role of photography between a socially committed medium of documentation and a tool of exalted self-expression, the artist was able to convince the jury of the complexity of his artistic work and his suitability for the Wolf Suschitzky Photography Prize 2025.
Jeremy Chih-Hao Chuang's submission Ephemeral Intimacy invites viewers to consider the world of modern dating as a stage where personal and universal dramas unfold. The images are technically well crafted as well as playful and honest. They tell the story of modern relationships and the experiences from the viewpoint of someone who has chosen London as their home. This series illuminates the nuanced performances of indivuduals in their private lives.
