**Rescheduled event: NEW Date Thursday 11 December, 7pm
Maja Haderlap won the highly prestigious Bachmann prize in 2011 for her debut novel Engel des Vergessens (Angel of Forgetting). It tells the poignant story of a family from the Carinthian Slovenian population of Austria against the backdrop of the minority's resistance against National Socialism. One of the most important Austrian authors today, writing in Slovenian and German, joins us for a reading and discussion of her work, which encompasses poetry, essays, translations and fiction.
This reading is part of the conference 'Es geht uns gut: recent trends in (re)writing the past in Austrian Literature since 2000' organised by Heide Kunzelmann and the Ingeborg Bachmann Centre London. Participation is free but registration is required. Click here for more information.
