Artist-led sessions to explore good practice in community engagement projects, with local and international examples from Birmingham, Bulgaria, Crete and Poland.

This day will be of specific interest to artists and practitioners (whether as individuals or as part of an organisation) wishing to develop their practice in the context of community engagement and internationally.

Thursday 8th April, 10am – 4pm

The debate will investigate how this engagement informs the creative process and the artwork. The symposium will highlight case studies from arts organisations in Birmingham that work in innovative ways within cross-cutting agendas to create art that is relevant to particular communities.

This day will be of interest to artists, arts organisations, NGOs, local authority officers and regional agencies interested in cross-cultural practice, community engagement and international perspectives.
