The Ingeborg Bachmann Centre for Austrian Literature celebrates the 200th anniversary of Haydn’s death with a recital by the Matteo (formerly Escher) String Quartet from the Sun, Tost and Apponyi quartets. Haydn’s music will be complemented by readings by Eva Mayer, the remarkable writer of children’s literature, from her stories inspired by Haydn’s stay in England. English translations will be available. The event is sponsored by the John Coffin Memorial Fund of the University of London.
