European Literature Night returns to the Cheltenham Literature Festival (7-16 October) and will present writers, among them the Austrian Anna Kim, in a special evening event chaired by Rosie Goldsmith, the BBC presenter and champion of European literature. Kim, who took part in the European Literature Night at the British Museum, was this year’s writer-in-residence at the Ingeborg Bachmann Centre, University of London. She was born in South Korea and spent her formative years in Germany and Austria. A two-year stay in the UK complemented the multi-cultural background that comes to the fore in her compelling work.
