Austrian writer Julya Rabinowich will, together with Melbourne-based writer Kalinda Ashton, present a talk entitled Childhood Scars. Rabinowich's first novel Splithead, draws heavily on her own experience of leaving the Soviet Union at the age of 7. Her novel tells of a young girl's move from St Petersburg to Vienna which leads to divided loyalties and a splintering family.
