We have a special double bill of films which take to the road for our CineClub this February. Cinema is about movement and no other device propells us forward like the car. Both films in this double bill explore the themes of driving and death. Join us for 80 Plus and Crash for an unusual cinematic journey.
David Cronenberg's Crash, based on J.G. Ballard's novel of the same title and exquisitely photographed by Peter Suschitzky follows a film director's journey into obsession. After having been involved in a head-on collision with another car, he becomes entangled in a subculture of crash victims who seek thrill and connection through the unchained energy of crashes, aiming to revive intimacy through the raw power of collision.
1996, 100 minutes English language, directed by David Cronenberg
