We are excited to announce that the Austro-UK Science Alliance (AUKSA), in collaboration with ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA UK and the Austrian Business Agency (ABA), will convene the Real-World Impact Lab: From Research to Practice at White City Innovation Cluster, London.
This event brings together representatives of universities, research organisations, start-ups, industry, and the investment community from Austria and the United Kingdom to examine effective pathways for translating excellent research into real-world application.
The discussion will focus on effective mechanisms that shorten the distance from discovery to adoption - whether through creating high-impact spin-outs, licensing opportunities, or structured collaboration with corporate partners - highlighting lessons learned, funding instruments along the translation continuum, and practical conditions for successful pilots. With contributions from both Austrian and UK practitioners, the Lab aims to offer a succinct, comparative view of approaches that have demonstrably enabled impact.

The Austro-UK Science Alliance (AUKSA) is a bilateral initiative that brings together Austrian scientists based in the UK and fosters closer collaboration between the Austrian and British research communities. It was launched in spring 2025 at the Austrian Ambassador's Residence London. AUKSA serves as a platform to showcase Austrian scientific excellence, strengthen international research partnerships and promote meaningful academia–industry exchange and knowledge transfer. Through curated events, strategic dialogues, and joint initiatives, AUKSA highlights Austria’s scientific contributions abroad while building lasting connections across disciplines and institutions.
