In 2026, the ACF London celebrates its 70th anniversary. Rather than celebrating the ACF itself, we want this to be an ACF – A Celebration of Friends, of our partners, of birthdays and anniversaries, such as the Jazzexchange, currently in its 10th iteration.
We are delighted to welcome one of the most dynamic trios from the Austrian jazz scene - HAEZZ- to this year's edition of the popular concert series Jazzexchange, curated by Guido Spannocchi. This project brings together cutting-edge artists from Austria and the UK. The HAEZZ trio, consisting of bassist Tobias Vedovelli, saxophonist Štěpán Flagar and trumpeter Martin Eberle, will present imaginatively arranged pieces that resonate musically in the sound, open up atmospheric spaces and develop an inviting warmth .
They will be joined by the acclaimed British ensemble Testaments.

HAEZZ
Tobias Vedovelli, Štěpán Flagar and Martin Eberle need little introduction to connoisseurs of the Austrian jazz scene. The bands and projects in which they are and have been involved all bear prominent names such as 5K HD, Purple is the Colour or the Leonhard Skorupa Ensemble, to name but a few. We also know that the three of them know how to move excellently in a wide variety of musical fields, have a broad range and somehow put their own stamp on everything with their playing style.
Listening to HAEZZ’s music, one quickly gains the impression that the three musicians are focussing on a more accessible form of jazz, where the emphasis is less on instrumental virtuosity and more on creating atmosphere. Of course, the moments of free playing, the rhythmically more complex passages and the brisk, casual grooves are not missing, but they do not dominate the action, but are embedded in imaginatively arranged pieces that resonate musically in the sound, open up atmospheric spaces and develop an inviting warmth.
Martin Eberle – trumpet
Štepán Flagar – tenor saxophone
Tobias Vedovelli – bass
Testaments
Described as “the kinds of artists who’ll shape the future of jazz” (Gabriel Rivera, Indie Boulevard), Testaments are a London-based quintet making a name for themselves with an innovative style of romantic, modern jazz songs. From the mind of bassist and “amazing songwriter” (Kasia Constance, Onejazz) Mark McQuillan, Testaments create a sweeping and dynamic sound and guide audiences through a world of both ethereal beauty and intense drama. Featuring Rebecka Edlund (Vocals), Cameron Scott (Euphonium), Dom Howard (Guitar) and Sam Nicholls (Drums), each musician brings a unique voice and approach to the material which fosters constant variety within and between live performances. Edlund's “raw, beautiful delivery” (Gabriel Rivera, Indie Boulevard) gives voice to McQuillan's words through an earnest yet playful approach, while Scott's improvisational virtuosity is channeled into sublime musical peaks.
With a pious dedication to thematic clarity, Mark McQuillan brings a strikingly individual perspective both to his songs’ abstract subject matter and every stylistic detail. Testaments’ recorded output showcases fearless experimentation with song form and timbral variation within the jazz paradigm, while recent sold-out shows at London venues like Jazzlive at the Crypt and The Puppet Theatre Barge have left audience members in both tears and ecstasy. In whatever context, the band’s efforts contribute to a profound emotional experience for the mindful listener. Following three singles released since late 2024, their 4-track EP ‘Never Run Dry’ “expands the boundaries of improvised music without losing the emotion that anchors truly great songwriting” (We Write About Music).
