After arriving in Britain, Austrian composer and conductor Karl Rankl (1898 - 1968) embraced English culture and language at record speed, writing over 50 English songs between 1939 and 1942.
Norbert Meyn (Royal College of Music) and Joseph Breinl (Kunstuniversitaet Graz) explore the songs of Karl Rankl in a workshop (open to interested observers) with singers and pianists from the RCM and Ensemble Emigre, culminating in an informal concert of selected songs.
